Von Hyder:
A Melbourne based 5-piece band playing a brand of melodic rock with captivating female harmonies.
Singer, songwriter and guitarist Heidi has been playing acoustic gigs since 2001 with close friend Larissa. In 2005 these bittersweet harmonies have been catapulted into the rock domain with the addition of a solid rhythm section. With Stuart on Bass & Darren on drums, the lead guitar work of Strat ensures that Von Hyder are not like other rock bands.
The songs, the harmonies and the new exciting attitude talk to people who want originality and vibrancy.
Recent Melbourne gigs include the Yak Speakeasy, the Duke of Windsor, the Cue, and the Armadale Hotel, with an appreciative & energetic audience that could best be described as an eclectic mix of genre aficionados - oft categorised as Rock/Pop. From outside the pub, Von Hyder sounds like that great rock band that you just have to get inside to hear more.
A debut self-titled EP was recorded in the Rancho *****bo studios in March 2005 and is now available.

The Armchair Critics:
Local band The Armchair Critics have had a busy 2004, based on the strength of the bands home demo recording they were able to successfully secure slots all over the state whilst also receive airplay courtesy of local radio station RRR. The band are now on their way to proving that they are a force to be reckoned with; their sound a combination of captivating melodies, profound lyrics fused with harmonious guitar driven rock which provides the ammunition to entice even the most sceptical listener.
The Band will be launching their Debut EP 20th April as well as performing at this years Apollo Bay Festival.
