Bands & Artists : Mechanical Organic

flatearth writes"If you where to pigeonhole the sound of Mechanical Organic you would struggle to find a single category that would summarize the sound. Mech Org is predominately Heavy in nature with a hybrid Electronic/Industrial element mixed with a progressive edge. The vocal melodies were written and structured in such a way that they convey a sense of intellect while remaining melodic and hook laden, powerful and sonically interesting. Many vocal harmonies are included to give the music a rich bed of backing voices. Many other unique vocal effects have been included to deliver a distinctive sonic experience. The heavy crunching guitar work drives the Mech Org sound while outstanding lead and synth guitar highlight the musicality of the project. To accompany the music and vocals a range of sonic textures and panning sound effects making the listening experience authentic and exotic. "

News : 'The Grampians Song' to be released USA Jan 2007

music writes"

Acoustic Rainbow see's crossover potential on a number of different USA radio formats for Aimz. They will be releasing Russ's first single in the US 'The Grampians Song', off his debut album 'Cruze' in Jan 2007.

Russ Aimz is an independent performer living in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Taking the independent route, he has self funded, promoted and co-produced his debut album.

Review:
The passionate strains of "The Grampians Song" opens Russ Aimz' debut confidently. His earthy voice and the soaring strings work well together. Aimz, an Australian singer makes music that has me thinking of other bands from that country. I'm hoping it's not all prejudice on my part. "Melt" recalls the Go-Betweens literate jangle, and its exuberance is all its own. Aimz is clearly capable of making hopeful songs without being too sentimental. "Victoria" is gorgeous and epic and rhymes the title with 'euphoria' just because it can. "If I Give" has a message but exhibits enough self-doubt too not become too preachy. "If I give to others will there be anything left for me" ponders the narrator. The anthemic chorus and the use of strings work well here. A version of Fleetwood Mac's "Gypsy" closes the record nicely. This is a very nice debut. Copyright © 2006 Anna Maria Stjärnell (Sweden) Luna KafĂ©

Bands & Artists : somewhere between

-somewhere_between- writes"

Somewhere Between are a screamo/post hardcore band looking to get on to the melbourne music scene in 2007. We have been playing as a band for 4 years and have realised that we need a vocalist to take our music to the next level. We want some one with a higher range of vocals and if you can scream it is a plus but not as important because we all are working on screams already. We have played with bands such as arpejio, dont ask us and are working on original material. must be dedicated. influences are Escape the fate, The getaway plan, Story of the year, Funeral for a friend, Thrice and bullet for my valentine. So let us knopw if your interested on our myspace link.http://www.myspace.com/somewherebetween
