Rachael Byrnes Reviewed By Triple J Senior Producer

Rachael Byrnes, a quirky vintage-inspired pop songstress was recently reviewed by triple J’s Amelia Chappelow. Featuring her song, Truth is a Loaded Gun on her page, Amelia’s shining comments have brought Rachael some new superfans.

After a successful gig at the Builders Arms Band Room supporting Felicity Groom (touring with Eskimo Joe) Rachael Byrnes is hosting a cute intimate show at a local Melbourne favourite, The Bender Bar, this Friday, 3 June at 9pm… helping a new indie act flourish in the Melbourne scene, Someone Else’s Wedding Band will play an epic support slot and Cathy Field will open the night with some gorgeous bell like tunes.

News : Alex Watts & the Foreign Tongue to release 'Desperate Love' EP

8hrband writes"After gaining a steady foothold in the Melbourne music community over the past year, Alex Watts & the Foreign Tongue are about to deliver their debut EP through independent label Astound Records in June. Comprising 5 tracks, 'Desperate Love' is said to be the forerunner for a full LP planned for the end of this year.
To celebrate the release and showcase some of their new material, Alex Watts & the Foreign Tongue will be playing a free show in the lounge of the Thornbury Theatre on May 20th, along with Matt Ellis from The Dark Ales, so make sure to get down early!

News : Melband/Ausband site downtime...

UPDATE: Forums back up and running - we are monitoring but so far all seems fine. It will be a band-aid fix until we get the new site up and operating - which we are envisioning by Easter.

Sorry all, we had quite a few issues with the hosting company - we have now moved server - this took longer than expected waiting for the DNS change to propogate over the internet to point to the new server..

We've been working non-stop to get it back up and running but had to wait for nearly 40hours for the site to propogate (usually it only takes a couple of hours!)..

Sorry again for the delay in your daily surfing and thanks to all those people who called or emailled to remind us it was down - and no you haven't been banned for those people concerned they were!

We are experiencing some issues with the forums database and something is flooding the site with requests which is stalling the site. For now we have had to block the forums while we work to sort the problem.

We will endeavour to have the site up as soon as possible.
