News : Ennis Tola Single Launch
tomtom writes"Ennis Tola launch their debut single with support from Tread and Parker.
June 18 @ Spenserslive, 419 Spencer Street, West Melbourne
Get your tickets through Moshtix
Launching their debut single 'Turn My World Around' at Spenserslive on Friday June 18, Melbourne band Ennïs Tóla are causing a stir. Their flawless stagecraft, where progressive Middle Eastern Rock meets soaring melodies, extends
far beyond the tried-and-tested band lineup. Blending edgy and raw
guitar-driven riffs with Japanese Koto and Woodwind along with
masterful drums, bass and vocals, Ennïs Tóla is a collaboration between Tomas Fitzgerald [Guitars and Vocals], Karen Heath [Woodwinds and Japanese Koto], Chris Hitch [Bass], Thom Mann [Drums] and Ryan McRobb [Guitar and Effects]. Forging a unique sound that demands attention, Ennïs Tóla is made
up of members from The Grand Silent System, Rincon and
Mousetrapreplica, with individual players having worked with luminary
Australian musicians such as Kate Ceberano, Lior, and international
artists such as Stockhausen and members from the Icelandic Symphony
Orchestra.
The band has been working steadily recording their work, and will follow up the single launch in June with their debut album 'Seed' to be released later in the year. Constantly working, Ennïs
Tóla have not paused since the completion of their debut album, having
recorded already for their second album at Abbey Road Studios, London.
Bringing in a string trio and working with engineers Lewis Jones and
Paul Pritchard, their latest output inserts a distinct 'Masada' [John
Zorn] meets Brodsky Quartet meets Muse feel into the already heady mix
of progressive, raw music, making Ennïs Tóla one band to keep your eye on."

Perth's
lovable larrikans of in-your-face punk and rock'n'roll funtimes are

House" National Tour.
Full of energy and glorious boys-next-door
cheek, the band have charmed and offended audiences all around WA; and

Never ones to shy away from hard
work, the best boys in the west will driving all the way across the
country, and will appear at the following...

The Arthouse, Melbourne VIC w/ Tantalum, The Loveless, Young
Smokers
Wednesday 7 April @ The Townie, Newtown NSW Free

Newly remastered tunes available from the boys' myspace:
PARTY
AT YOUR HOUSE
A vigourous cheeky punk song, "Party At Your
House" is Project Mayhem's second single from their debut album.
This
song showcases what happens when a bunch of guys take a phrase they
commonly spring on their fellow pub and nightclub punters ("Party at
your house mate!") and set it to music.
An organic, to-the-point
number, "Party At Your House" is exactly what's required for Friday,
Saturday, and every other night of the week.
FILTER THIS!
Flipside
"Filter This!" is a rocky affair, deliberately and pointely aimed at
Senator Stephen Conroy's outrageous plans to censor Australia's
Internet.
Full of humourously direct lyrical attack, the song was
appreciated enough by Australia's anti-censorship lobby that the band
were invited to perform it live in Perth's Forrest Place as part of
their national day of action.
From the streets of Perth to your
stereo and a stage near you, Filter This! is the perfect accompaniment
to "Party At Your House", and together the songs showcase the dynamic
nature of Perth's favourite party band.
It's certainly not
Project Sensible, but you better believe this band don't dick around
politically, nor when it comes to arranging a party at your place
despite all the odds.
Project Mayhem will see you soon, at
your place, or maybe in a city nearby!
