Sydney-raised, Melbourne-based artist Sui Zhen (pronounced Sue-ee Chen) is the colourful personality of singer/songwriter and composer Becky Freeman, who is set to release her beautiful debut album ‘Two Seas’ on 4th May 2012. To celebrate the release, Sui Zhen will hit the road in May and June with an Album Tour along the east coast, stopping in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Newcastle, Wollongong and Canberra. 'Two Seas' came together throughout Sui Zhen’s travels over the past few years, and the album bears the unique marks of all the spaces inhabited along the way. A song written in Redfern was recorded in an old church in Wildes Meadow, arranged in Berlin and mixed in Gerroa. Whilst visiting family in Bahrain – which translates literally to ‘two seas’ – Sui Zhen decided the album was ready for release. Working with acclaimed producer, Tony Dupe (Holly Throsby, Jack Ladder), you’ll hear soaring yet delicate vocals from Sui Zhen as she combines indie-folk with touches of country, experimental and pop whimsy. First single “Little Frog” has already gained support of major indie radio stations and found its way around the blogosphere. It has also been featured in Frankie Magazine’s ‘Tunesday’. Sui Zhen has been performing both solo and with her full live band since 2003, supporting the likes of Coco Rosie (USA), Kimya Dawson (USA), The Brunettes (NZ, SubPop), and Malcolm Middleton (of Arab Strap, USA). Sui Zhen’s self-titled independent EP of folktronic-pop was launched in late 2007 to glowing reviews and national airplay. Sui Zhen was selected for the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy in 2010 and performed at Sonar Music Festival in Barcelona later that year. Alongside releasing ‘Two Seas’, Sui Zhen will also release an EP with fellow RBMA 2010 participant Andras Fox in their duo project, Fox + Sui. Her influences include Karen Dalton, PJ Harvey, Arthur Russell, Daniel Johnston, Joanna Newsom, just to name a few. Don’t miss this innovative and beautiful music gem.

If you fancy a nice tea break in between courtesy of gOSs, we got it covered.

Also, you'll get some great opportunities to perform. This choir is really making a name for itself in Melbourne. We've opened the National Festival of Choirs Grand Finale Concert alongside Jonathon Welch, and sung at several reputable locations including the beautiful Werribee Mansion.

A talented multi-instrumentalist in his own right, David Carr's mission as a Record Producer is to make every Production hold it's own, both artistically and sonically, against the world's stage and all within an Australian budget.
He brings 25 years of experience and the benefit of having learnt his craft whilst under guidance of experienced producers and engineers- and all of this was paid for by the long gone era of 80's and 90's record company excess.
David has received much praise by way of comparison. He has been called both Australia's Butch Vig and Rick Rubin (the latter for the fact David can be recording a 'roots' outfit one week and Death Metal the next). Contemporaries see parallels to the work of Steve Albini, Brendan O'Brien and Andy Wallace. Because of these associations it is common for music industry Captains to make many assumptions about David's production sound; that perhaps his mixes were done by Americans, that his studio is all analog tape based or that he mixes on an SSL console. When quizzed about the gear he uses David is quick to point out that what really matters is the creative talents of the engineer. Tools, both new and vintage cannot create sounds and this is why Mr Carr gets the same world class sound regardless of the Studio he is using, tools, location or budget.

2004 David produces Kiss Chasy's 'Dark side' EP which receives mainstream airplay and catapults the Band to National success. They sign to John Watson's group.
2005 David produces Antiskeptic's Aurora and the singles Clear to Pass and Nothing to say gain high rotation JJJ play. He mixes Angela's dish 'Lie Die' release and they sign to a major.
2006 David is recruited by Taxiride to co-produce their 3rd Album Axiomatic which delivers the hit 'Oh Yeah'.
2007 David records and mixes Forgiven Rival's 1st EP which lands them a deal with El Shaddai Records David records ANIM8's debut instrumental album which is praised by the musical community for it's originality and unique production style. Guy Sebastian used David for the Electric guitars on the Elevator Love hit single.
2008 David scores endorsement deals with Flaxwood guitars and CarrAmplifiers David produces and records Bring on the Junta's brutal 1st release and they are snapped up by the Netherlands label Undertow. The Sticks employ David to Mix (read rescue) their EP and they become Kitchen knife Wife.
2009 Big Scary record their debut EP and critically acclaimed follow up with David Carr and they hit the festival circuit, Team Trick Management chooses David Carr to produce and record band John Citizen with the beautiful and talented Eva Pattison. They receive overwhelming Triple J support David Carr develops and produces releases for Sadhana, Carolyn Oates, Cilla-Jane and Ebony Manusama.
2010 David Carr discovers and develops Melbourne artists Ben Abraham who records a 3 track EP. It results in a management bidding war with industry heavy weights climbing over each other to secure this upcoming artist and his product. David Carr produces record number 2 for Tim Harris who is subsequently short listed for Grey's Anatomy.

The boys from Dead Lovers Lane are placing their material into archive files and relaunching themselves and their superior sound under the new name - Empire.
After the replacement of two members, the Melbourne based metal band made the decision that a complete overhaul of their original material was needed and returned to the studio for three solid months.
With their bigger and more brutal sound ...now perfected, the relaunch as Empire is in line with the release of the first EP ‘Secrets’, which is so close to completion we can smell the ink on the album cover drying.
In addition to the ex-Dead Lover Lane crew, Nick Dinneen (lead vocals/screams), Josh Devine (rhythm) and Oresti Salter (on the drums) resuming their original positions. Empire would like to introduce their newest editions; Kota Nakamura (lead guitar) and Luke Baird (bass).
Fans should be expecting the same melodic chorus’s strategically weaved in between poignant screams and intoxicating riffs, on a more superior level.
Empire played their first gig together on Friday the 13th January 2012 at Yah Yahs in Collingwood to a full house of torso thrusting fans.
