Bands & Artists : Savvas

savvas writes"

Long history, good times and bad but I've survived. Listen to the music and make up your own story.Savvas started out in Rock bands in 1993 joining a Melbourne Prog Metal outfit gigging the local scene. After getting kicked out due to "directional reasons",he formed a band with Theo Poulakidis called "Fire". After some success with the album "Time is Time over again" in 1997, Fire found it difficult to form a solid gigging band. In 1998, Fire folded and Savvas started experimenting with Electro recording the Album "Authority is Slavery". He Djed and produced Electronic music until 2005 before delving back into Rock and creating the album "Trauma". Trauma is a showcase of personal song writing, collaborations and experimentation in different genres including Folk and Funk. The album was recorded in Melbourne laboriously between 2005-2007. Davin Pidoto recorded most of the tracks with additional help by Ben Ehrensburg and Matt Voigt. It was mixed at Sing Sing . Finally, it was mastered in Sydney by Steve Smart. Check it and I hope you enjoy the journey through musical landscapes and feelings. Presently, Savvas has formed a gigging band(Peter Cox-Drums,Daigo Nakai-Bass) to promote the album and is hunting down a record deal. A very successful show was held at the PennyBlack in Brunswick (www.youtube.com/savvasmichael) and most recently , Savvas came second in the "Storytellers" competition and will progress to the semi finals on August 6th,2010. An album is in the works and is due for release in November ,2010.
